Two days national level seminar sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi was organized by Dr.VVPF’s College of Pharmacy, Vilad Ghat, Ahmednagar on 26th and 27th December 2013 on the topic “Computational Chemistry in Anticancer Drug Research”.The seminar was inaugurated by the hands of Hon. Dr. Rajiv P. Gude, Scientific officer [F], Principal Investigator and Asst. Prof. Cancer Research Institute, Tata Memorial Centre, New Mumbai and Hon Dr. Srinivasa Reddy Senior Scientist, Organic Chemistry Division, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. Hon Dr. Sami Mukhopadhyay, Head, Research Services, V-Life Science Technology, Pune and various other dignitaries were present on the occasion and delivered informative talk on the theme of the seminar.In accordance with the seminar, a Souvenir was released by the above Hon. Speakers and dignitaries. Along with the two day seminar a paper presentation competition was also organized. About 134 research papers were presented which were evaluated by the experts. Two best research papers were awarded with a trophy and cash prize. Mr. Dnyneshwar Hardas from Dept. of Pharm. Chemistry, Dr.VVPF’s College of Pharmacy, Ahmednagar and Mr. Prashant Aragade from Dept. of Pharmacy, Govt. Polytechnique, Jalgaon were awarded first and second prize respectively.Along with seminar a Pharma Expo was organized for Pharma Professionals viz. equipments, instruments, chemicals and books. The Expo imparted guidance and information to the students and delegates attending the seminar.

Hon. Dr. Sujay Vikhe Patil, CEO, Dr.VVP Foundation, Hon. Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr. B. Sadananda, Sec. Gen, Dr.VVP Foundation, Hon. Dr. P. M. Gaikwad, Director Technical, Dr.VVP Foundation, Hon. Dr. Abhijit Diwate, Deputy Director, Medical College and Memorial Hospital along with Dr. P. Y. Pawar, Principal Dr.VVPF’s College of Pharmacy, Staff Members, Professionals from Pharmacy along with large numbers of delegates were present for the seminar.

The two day national level seminar concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. R. L. Sawant, Seminar Coordinator and Head, Dept. of Pharm. Chemistry and P.G. Studies.
